Each review score ranges from 1 to 10. To calculate the overall score, we sum up all the review scores and divide the total by the number of reviews received. Guests can also provide separate subscores in important areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free WiFi. Subscores and overall scores are submitted independently, with no direct link between them.
If you have booked and stayed at an accommodation through our platform, or even if you visited the property without staying, you can review it. If you need to edit a review you have already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have dedicated people and automated systems that specialize in identifying and removing fake reviews from our platform. If any fake reviews are found, they are promptly deleted, and if necessary, appropriate action is taken against the responsible party.
Should you spot anything suspicious, please report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate the matter.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we do not display reviews that include or refer to politically sensitive comments, promotional content, illegal activities, personal or sensitive information (such as emails, phone numbers, or credit card details), swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, violence, spam, fake content, animal cruelty, impersonation, or any violation of our review guidelines.
To ensure relevance, we may only accept reviews submitted within 3 months after checking out. We may also stop showing reviews once they are 36 months old or if the accommodation undergoes a change of ownership.
Accommodations have the option to reply to reviews.
When multiple reviews are available, the most recent ones are displayed at the top, taking into account certain factors such as language and whether the review contains comments or is just a rating. You can sort and filter reviews based on the time of year, review score, and more.
Occasionally, we may include external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but we always specify when we do.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards are in place to maintain relevant and family-friendly content on our platform without limiting expression or strong opinions. They apply regardless of the comment’s tone.
Contributions should be related to travel. The most helpful contributions are detailed and assist others in making informed decisions. Please avoid personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed, and any concerns regarding Booking.com’s services should be directed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be suitable for a global audience. Please refrain from using profanity or attempting to use creative spelling to approximate profanity in any language. Comments and media that contain hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should reflect your own experience. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. We do not tolerate attempts to manipulate the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review.
Respect the privacy of others. We make an effort to conceal email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of our customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com assumes no responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. We are a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review, along with additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews. These criteria include language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (such as by type of traveler or by score).
